April saw us on the road with the car in order to utilize our timeshare points.
Our first point of interest in northern California was a semi with a Jelly Belly trailer!
The hills were beautiful shades of green.
A couple of hours further south the colours changed.
And then there was the desert in bloom.
And wind turbines.
Then the hills were alive with more spring flowers!
Our first timeshare, at 7,000 feet elevation, was near San Bernardino California at Big Bear Lake.
With snow.
We visited Ralph’s Uncle Bob and Auntie Gwen in Riverside where we were back to hot weather and fruit trees in their back yard.
In Big Bear Lake we relaxed and explored some of the small shops and restaurants. It is a ski and hiking resort.
En route to Las Vegas we passed miles of Joshua trees in bloom.
The desert in bloom was a spectacular sight!
While in Vegas we explored more of Valley of Fire (see post #130 also). The colours are intense and the formations otherworldly.
Ancient petroglyphs convey human occupation and activities in the area.
Petrified logs tell of a very different climate 150 million years ago.
