In Regina, the Saskatchewan Legislative Building is an impressive part of the city. (Although perhaps not as well know as The Saskatchewan Roughriders.)
Walter Scott, the first premier from 1905 to 1916, envisioned that Saskatchewan would grow into one of Canada’s most populous provinces. He wanted a structure that would last for centuries.
The grounds are beautifully designed and maintained.
The RCMP presented the statue of Queen Elizabeth II and her favourite horse Burmese to Her Majesty in 1969. Burmese was born and raised at Fort Walsh Saskatchewan. The Queen rode Burmese at the annual Trooping of the Colour until 1987.
The Legislative Building rotunda is impressive with murals that convey some of the province’s history.
The mace awaits the next Legislative Assembly.
The Legislative Library is an integral part of governing the province. Thousands upon thousands of books and documents record the activity of the province plus provide resources for member, staff and the public.
The Confederation Table was used at the Quebec Conference in 1865. The Government of Canada gave the table to the North-West Territorial Council, which preceded the Province of Saskatchewan. The table had to be cut in order to be transported and installed after the Legislative Building was completed.

Cumberland Gallery was the most unexpected room.
Another couple took the tour with us. They were in Regina for the Saskatchewan Roughriders versus Calgary Stampeders game. He bravely wore red in Regina.
We didn’t spot them at the game in the overwhelming sea of green.
The new stadium is designed to allow the best possible view from all the seats. Corner seats are angled toward the field.
The food selections are creative and tasty.
Half time is always entertaining.
And, of course, the game was entertaining. Especially since the Roughriders won 40 to 27 over Calgary.
The Riders were working toward expanding this board.
