#178 June 2018 Quesnel Bears and Birds

We were looking forward to stopping in Quesnel to spend time with Heather and Bruce, Ralph’s cousins. Bruce is very familiar with the area and gave us many tips about what to see and do. Heather and I caught up on family news. We had a tour of their yard and projects. Their greenhouse and gardens are abundant –  and edible.

Their hummingbird feeder had constant visitors. Hummingbirds are very territorial so it was fascinating to view them watch one another.

I only caught five birds in one photo but there were many more at times.

The grain elevator birdhouse reminds them of Saskatchewan roots.

The Quesnel Museum explores the First Nations people, settlers, trappers and miners in the area.

This linotype machine has 10,000 moving parts and was the 8thmost complicated machine in the world.

Quesnel's unique feature is the Little People.

Out of town we saw a black bear with two cubs.

The deer darted away quickly.

This moose was just as curious about us as we were interested in him.

The RV park had a few families of geese who foraged morning and evening.

At dusk the geese swam off into the distance.

The dock was designed for relaxing and enjoying days end.
