#167 Oct 2017 Standin' on the Corner!

We have always enjoyed Eagles music. When we left the Meteor Crater driving towards the Petrified Forest Ralph noticed that Winslow was the next town. Could that be The Corner in Winslow Arizona?

On our way back to Sedona we drove into the town and followed the signs. Oh Yes!

The Corner took us back to 1972, a different time and younger days.

Jackson Browne, Glenn Frey’s former roommate, had car trouble and had broken down on Route 66 in Winslow Arizona. Browne had started the song “Take It Easy” but was stuck finishing the second verse.

Frey contributed “It’s a girl, my lord, in a flatbed Ford, slowin’ down to take a look at me.” The result would later be voted one of the 500 most influential songs in rock history.

Often we don’t know what is around the corner until we get there.

  3. Remember that song as you move along...take it easy! Irish blessing: "May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be at your back and your fuel stops be few!"
